We are so excited to announce that Dorothy Starbuck has sold three of her original oil paintings in her native birds of Florida collection. All three paintings were purchased this week by one of her long time collectors. Dorothy was very happy to have these favorite works going to their new home. The collection included a large Gallery wrap canvas titled "Heron Hideaway", 36x36, that features a Great Blue Heron bird resting on a limb over the water with lovely sunlight details bouncing off the surface of the river adding depth and excitement to the piece. The bird is tucked in a natural alcove of beautiful foliage with leaves and branches draping out over the water and detailed green leaves surrounding it. The next in the series is a framed oil on canvas titled "Egret in the Nest", 16x12, that is a portrait of a baby egret with its new fluffy white feathers in its nest with wonderful detail in the large twig nest and a beautiful tree limb full of leaves behind him. The final of the three is another framed oil on canvas, titled "Great Blue Heron", 20x16, a fan favorite that features a Heron perched on a twisted, old cypress limb, majestically gazing out over the water with wonderfully detailed Spanish moss trailing down around him in the surrounding limbs along the waters edge. The colors in the moss and detail of each stand takes the viewer to this beautiful location with delight as your eyes explore all the details in his feathers and the light grey moss you want to touch. Congratulations to Dorothy! If you would like to own one of her originals or even a giclée contact her today!
