James Snyder has chosen two of Dorothy Starbucks oil paintings for his historical book on the famous Loxahatchee River in Florida. “Marsh Time I” and "Marsh Time II" are paintings of a natural river scene were personally chosen by the Florida author as he felt her paintings represented the perfect vision of the river and added that he just loved them. The author chose certain works created by Florida artists and photographers that would depict the river and its diverse beauty in all its splendor. Artists have found the beauty if the River and its wildlife to be a challenge and inspiration for years and Snyder wanted to pay tribute to the art created with its theme. This grand river in southeastern Florida originates at Riverbend Park and flows through the Arthur R. Marshall National Wildlife Refuge. The river is one of only two in the state to receive Federal Designation as a National Wild & Scenic River.
The two paintings in the book by Dorothy Starbuck are titled “Marsh Time I” on the Print Page with “Marsh Time II on the print page as well.
Since the printing of The "A Trip Down the Loxahatchee", both of Starbuck's Original Oil Paintings featured have sold, however there are a limited prints on canvas available for purchase.
